A clear booking event
Bookings arrive as book_appointment, a custom event with transaction_id, value, currency and service_name parameters. Report on it, build audiences with it, or use it as a key event.

Each booking is sent to GA4 as a book_appointment event with its value, currency and service, straight from our server. Mark it as a key event and you can see which channels and campaigns bring in bookings.

What you get
01
Bookings arrive as book_appointment, a custom event with transaction_id, value, currency and service_name parameters. Report on it, build audiences with it, or use it as a key event.
02
DatePick uses GA4's Measurement Protocol, so the booking is recorded even when a visitor's browser blocks scripts or they close the tab after paying.
03
Value and currency on every event let you see booking revenue by source, campaign and landing page, and service_name tells you which services convert.
04
Mark book_appointment as a key event in GA4 and import it into Google Ads, so Smart Bidding can optimise for bookings rather than clicks.
Set up
In GA4, open Admin › Data streams › your web stream › Measurement Protocol API secrets and create one.
In Settings › Tracking pixels, paste your Measurement ID (G-…) and the API secret, then switch Google on.
Once the first booking arrives, mark book_appointment as a key event in GA4.
Made for
Import booked appointments into Google Ads as a conversion and let Smart Bidding chase patients who book, not visitors who bounce.
See which articles and landing pages lead to class bookings, and how many bookings each traffic source brings in a month.
Compare booking revenue by channel across the season, and spot when paid traffic stops paying for itself.

FAQ
GA4 has no built-in booking event, so DatePick sends a custom event named book_appointment. Mark it as a key event in GA4 to count it as a conversion.
Yes, once book_appointment is a key event and your GA4 property is linked to Google Ads, you can import it as a conversion action.
Server-side events can only be tied to a session when the visitor's GA client ID is available. When it isn't, GA4 can't attribute the booking to a channel, though the booking and its value are still counted.
